Specifically designed for Yamaha XS and XJ & FZ600 series bikes: I love to use them on my XS1100 projects, XS650, XS750/XS850, XJ Maxims/Secas, early FZ's and other models! The XS Fuse Boxes located on top of the battery, or under the side panel, are a part of the original wiring harness, - and until now, have Not been available separately. This is a replica of that box as shown, plus matching terminal block & terminals. None of the stock YAMAHA fuse boxes come removable from the factory. This comes with all the terminals and connectors to splice into your wiring harness. With the addition of the connector block, if you have problems down the line, (in say, another 30-40 years), you can easily remove the whole box, because you have already installed the quick snap connector! Simply cut the old fuse box from your main harness, (noting which wires go to which fuse circuit! :-), I like to go one at a time...lol Install the supplied terminals, then attach the connector block (provided) and plug in the new fuse box! Here is a pro tip, ride the bike for 5 or 10 minutes,and put you hand close to the fuses, touch them all quickly,to see if they are warm, or hot to the touch. If they are, there is resistance, usually the clips themselves are the culprit.trying to clean them- with say, a dremel wire wheel, will often just break them,because the heat has made them so brittle. I recommend replacing them all, and checking again for heat. I suggest that ALL the connectors on the bike, especially charging system, and the ignition wires that go inside the headlight bucket, should be cleaned, de-oxified, and packed with dielectric grease. Includes 1 x 20Amp and 3 x 10Amp fuses. And of course, you can substitute any amp fuse, in any slot, as needed for your particular bike / circuit. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Notes on installation: recommended tools are: wire strippers and a crimping tool *ask one of your buddies, - someone is bound to have some crimpers you can borrow! lol :-) * note: For better than Factory, professional results, the male connectors for the plug should be soldered in place, once crimped to the wires. this eliminates pullout. * ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Shown below is a picture of the fuse box and connectors, and above that is a battery cover intended for XS650 models you can use this for any 4 fuse setup. cut your old one out of the harness, and install the supplied terminals, matching the wiring positions with your old fuse box.
