This sword is dated December 8th, 1941--the day (in Japan) of the attack on Pearl Harbor. This sword would make an important addition to any collection. This sword is signed by the swordsmith '27th Generation Kaneko Magoroku Kanemoto'. The reverse side of the nakago has the date 'December 8, 1941'. The handmade gendai blade measures 14 3/16" (36 cm) from blade tip to notch in the blade spine. Note the less common blade shape. A desirable sword. Condition:The blade is in original Japanese polish. There is one spot of spider rust on one side of the blade. The hamon and boshi are perfectly healthy. There are no blade nicks in the cutting edge.
