Description: The uniform is named to Robert Allen Mosel Born 1925 passed in 1997 In January 1944, Mosel was with the 13th recruit battalion in South Carolina. And would take basic training with a 51st replacement battalion at Camp Lejeune North Carolina as a machine gun crewman MOS 604. In July Mosel would join K Co. 3rd battalion 24th Marines 4th Marine division and would leave Hawaiian area on SS Sea Witch but would temporary be assigned to casual Co. headquarters battalion 2nd Marine division for combat at Tinian. Mosel would participate in the battle of Tinian with Co.B 1st Battalion 2nd marines 2nd marine division. 1945 April Mosel would arrive at Okinawa and participate in operations against enemy Japanese forces as an element of the X-Army. But would soon leave arriving at Saipan sometime in July Mosel would be in a field hospital from the 16th to the 24th for unknown reason, but would ultimately end up in Japan for occupation duty until being discharged in 1946. NOTE. It was re-issued at one point has ghosting of first Marine division patch or possibly old Second marine division patch and the diamond configuration. I added the second marine division patch back to the uniform due to not having one at all for display purposes only patch can be taken back off if need.
