Description: Faulkner, William - Intruder in the Dust - Random House: New York, 1948 - First Edition / First Printing / First Issue Dust Jacket - “First Printing” stated on the copyright page as required in order to denote the first printing of the first edition. First issue dust jacket with the correct “$3.00” price present. The book has soiling, shelf wear, and rubbing which has taken most the lettering from the front and spine. Internally there is a book plate and a name stamp along with a smell of smoke. Otherwise the text block is clean. The dust jacket has been split unevenly at the front panel and tape mended along the verso, there is a chip at the top of the front flap, and general wear and soiling. A far from pristine example but it is complete none the less. This served as the basis for the superb 1949 film adaptation of the same title. A novel of racial injustice in the deep south. A Haycraft-Queen Cornerstone title. All books are offered with a full 30 day postage paid return policy. All books which are in dust jackets will be mailed with a clear archival dust jacket protector fitted. Shipping costs can be combined if multiple purchases are made. Items will be packaged and shipped within one business day unless otherwise noted. Please always feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.
