Description: Here is a rare Vintage French Religious Catholic HOLY CARD with a Cross, Pansies, a Prayer. Look at the beautiful illustration at the front, signed J.R. "Depose" means that it has been registered by the publisher: Baillard Edition, Paris. My computer doesn't allow me to write the accents on the French words, sorry about that. At the front is written: Les croix sur la terre sont des couronnes au ciel which means: The crosses on Earth are crowns in the sky. At the back, there is what looks like a prayer: Je te salue, O Croix si ardemment desiree! Mon Dieu, qu'il est doux de souffrir pour vouswhich means:Hail, O Cross so fervently wanted! My God, it is so soft to suffer for you I am not sure if my translation is perfect from a religious point of view, but I did my best so you can get an idea of the meaning. Size: 3 3/8" long x 2 1/16" wide Condition: I see yellow traces and a few light creases here and there, the gold color which is all around is slightly worn but the gold color on the cross is still there. These flaws look worse on the photos than in person. Overall, rather good vintage condition considering its very old age, please, check the photos as well.
