This genuine vintage 1956 outfit is a versatile mix of dress and jumper that can be worn with or without the snap-in vestee. The inverted pleat in the back of the jacket is a beautiful style detail. The dress' slightly bloused bodice and deep V neckline gives a very flattering fit. Its' understated elegance makes it a classic that could be worn as a staple of your career wardrobe today! This just looks like a pattern that would be interesting and very rewarding to sew. Simplicity 1925 Size 13 Bust 33 Waist 35 1/2 Hip 35. Own a piece of fashion history and wear it too! Classic style is always in fashion. Complete pattern and primer for dress, jumper, jacket, and vestee: Dress or jumper is styled with sleeveless bloused bodice with deep V neckline and slim skirt. When worn as a dress, snap-in vestee fills V neckline. Jacket features inverted pleat at center back and buttoned belt at lower edge of back. Tie ends stitched at shoulder under wide collar tie in front: kimono sleeves are bracelet length. Welts trim upper edge of jumper-dress and lower edge of jacket. The pattern envelope has seen better days, as mentioned in the condition statement above. Use the bust measurement to determine the size you need. Pattern sizes do not correspond to retail ready-to-wear sizes. Take bust measurement across the widest part of your back and around fullest part of you bust. This will not be the same as your bra size, which is the band measurement just under the bust. There are many tutorials available on the internet if you would like more information about proper measuring techniques. The photos are part of the description, so please take a good look at them. I think the notes written on the patterns by those who used them so long ago add such character and life. To me, these patterns smell like a library and remind me of story-time in elementary school.
