Description: This set has two unique vintage "The Tinder Box Selected Grecian Briar" wood pipes with vulcanite stems and a mahogany pipe stand. The two pipes are both different styles. The bowls are made of Grecian Briar and mouthpieces are made of vulcanite. Tinder Box no longer makes pipes out of Grecian Briarwood. Briar is cut from the root burl of the heath tree, which is native to the rocky and sandy soils of the Mediterranean region. The stand is 5" long, 4" wide, and 1" tall. Each pipe measures about 6" long. The pipes and stand are in excellent condition with a like new pipe rest. One pipe mouthpiece does show some wear and there are still minor traces of tobacco in each one even though they have been cleaned. Each mouthpiece is removable for easy cleaning.
