Radio is able to receive stations on the AM band quite readily once the tubes warm up, with minimal background noise, but only with your hand placed on the rear cardboard antenna. The power cord is a new replacement. The bakelite body is in great shape with no chips or cracks, and has been polished with Novus, which is made for polishing plastics and bakelite. All of the knobs turn smoothly and properly, but the dial indicator does not move and is loose - the string that moves it is detached. It will be placed in a plastic bag and taped to the inside of the radio so it does not get lost or damaged. Great looking radio to add to your collection.
