Description: Vintage Omega Constellation Chronometer Automatic Cal.712 18K Gold Dress watch Out of my own collection comes this first-class example from the very top of the early Omega Constellation range. It is in excellent original, unrestored condition and made in 18ct solid gold with an 18ct solid gold dial. The substantial and heavy 28 x 38 mm watch case is in excellent condition.Beautifull waffle pattern dial with onyx inlaid hour indices at 12, 3, 6 and 9 and index hands. The dial also carries the applied Omega brand logo and ‘Constellation’ inscription below the 12 hour and ‘Omega Chronometer Automatic’ above 6 and ‘Swiss Made’ below the ‘6’.This is the original high grade Omega Caliber 712 Chronometer automatic, copper-plated beryllium-bronze, 24 jewel movement which is in excellent condition.The movement is signed ‘Omega Watch Co Swiss’, ‘Twenty-Four Jewels’ and ‘Cal.712 Adjusted 5 Positions’ with the Serial No. 26512652 which dates the manufacture of this watch movement to 1968. These movements are highly respected for being robust, exceedingly accurate and highly reliable. The automatic winding mechanism is very efficient and if worn regularly each day, this watch will never need winding andThis 18ct solid gold case measures 28 x 38mm, excluding the crown which is adorned with a precious stone. The case is in excellent conditions as shown in the pictures. The press-fit case-back closes with a very solid and satisfying ‘pop’, indicating the case has been impeccably built and maintained.The Inside of the case-back in engraved with the Omega typical markings as are, the Omega Watch Co. triangle and is signed ‘Fab Suisse’ and ‘Swiss Made’. The serial number 153042 is also found here, along with the 18K-0.750 Swiss Geneva hallmarks.The watch is finished with a quality handmade black ostrich leather strap and gold-plated buckle. This is a beautiful example of a vintage top of the line Omega automatic dress watch with watches far more expensive than this.Indeed, when new, this watch would have cost more than the equivalent Rolex. I do not have the original case or paperwork. I guarantee the authenticity of the watch as I bought it myself years and years ago for my own collection, which I'm now dissolving.
