Description: VINTAGE 90s BULGARIAN PAINTING BY M. CHOMAKOV ON WOODEN BOARD VERY RARE! DESCRIPTION:Offered to you is this vintage painting by the famous Bulgarian artist Michail Chomakov. His first exhibition at Sterling gallery in Italy was sold out. Later it turned out that the gallery was owned by the Camorra and he got involved in a situation where there was no exit strategy. He was taken by force to a castle in the countryside owned by one of the leaders of the organization. The painting is made on a piece of wooden board taken from the castle’s furniture where the artist was kept under forced contract by the Camorra - Naples mafia. His paintings were sold in the US for up to $20,000 by the crime syndicate but he received close to nothing for his work. The painting is made with gold paints and represents a dragon which symbolizes the mafia itself, eating off its tail. Chomakov eventually managed to buy himself out from the Italian mafia with the help of a local family and returned back to Bulgaria where he became an art professor.
