Miller Nativity Chalkware Mary Joseph Figures 4” Creche 1950s Listing is for two beautiful vintage J.H. Miller Mary and Joseph chalkware figures. Mary is about 3 ¾” tall and Joseph is about 3 ¼”. Miller produced chalkware figures from 1938 to the 1950’s. They are in very good vintage condition. They have a few light flecks of missing paint. No cracks, repairs, or other damage. Note: White spots are light reflections. Smoke free home. Please see photos. A little history: J.H. Miller (aka "Tike"), inventor of the machine made by Mold-A-Rama, Inc. of L.A. made a business of making statues about 3" to 5" high. In 1938 he started his business making hand-painted nativity statues out of a plaster called "chalkware."
