Description: Vintage Italian 800 Silver & Garnet Designer Lip Stick Holder / Mirror Compact This stunning lip stick holder was hand made by an Italian designer around the 1950s. The case is of rectangular shape and features fine floral engravings. The slide-out piece is adorned with an oval red gemstone, probably a garnet, which has two functions: It holds the spring hinged mirror down when closed and acts as a button for the sliding mechanism that pushes out the lipstick holder. An ingenious design which works perfectly. The piece is in good vintage condition. This stylish piece measures approx. 2 1/4" long and weighs approx. 28.4 grams.
