Description: Hard to find Vernonware "Gingham Green" oval 10 inch platter/tray which is in perfect condition with no chips, cracks, crazing and only a few very tiny utensil marks. This piece has had very little use and been well cared for. The pattern "Gingham Green" features bright yellow and green plaid design which is hand painted under the clear glaze. It was active from 1949-1958 and was extremely popular. Vernon Kilns went out of business in 1958 and Metlox acquired its molds and patterns; however, this piece dates from the Vernonware era and is prior to 1958. It measures 10 3/8 inches long and 6 1/2 inches wide and is listed as a "platter" on replacement sites; however it could also be used as a relish tray. This is a difficult piece to find and I've priced very reasonably. All items I sell either come from or have been stored in a smoke free environment and are sold “as-is”.
