Description: This Vintage Beauty has been in my personal collection for 20 years. I bought it in Toronto, Canada in the early 2000's, but it dates back to the 1970's. The label is Sage Allen and there's a tag on the inner lining that says it's a size 10 but sizes back then were a little different. I'd say that this would fit a woman who is a modern size 6 -8 and maybe a 10 if you're not too busty. Sage Allen was a department store from Connecticut that was in business from the late 1800's through the early 1990's. Many brands made items for them to sell under their own department store label. The piece is in stunning condition! There aren't even tears or signs of wear in the lining. I flipped one of the sleeve inside out for a photo so you can see the full lining condition (lining in the armpits of vintage coats are notoriously worn, but she's a sturdy girl!) I would suggest a quick cleaning of the leather with some leather cleaner and a soft cloth. Because the collar and cuffs are wool fiber, you can actually spot clean them with water. The pocket flaps on the front are just for show. What looks like a seam under these flaps are the openings for the real pockets (see photos of the pocket detail). When I got the coat the sleeves were strangely short on my arms so I had a tailor move the cuffs down. If you look super close at the cuff detail photos you can see the old stitch line from where it used to be. All snaps are present, original, and working well. The coat is mid-length. Measuring from the back of the jacket right where the collar is sewn to the leather down to the hem is right at about 34" I hope this sassy old girl finds a new home where she'll be worn and loved. She has a ton of life left in her and is a rare show stopper!
