Vintage 1991 USA Peavey Generation Custom guitar, wide neck, hardcase *rare*

Description: Up for sale is a vintage USA made 1991 Peavey "Generation Custom" guitar, and it comes with the tremelo bar, and a Fender hardshell case.This Generation Custom model was the top of the line of the USA Generation series during their production run between 1989 and 1994 and had a MSRP of over $1,400, back then, 30 years ago.($1,400 in 1991 is equivalent in purchasing power to about $3,045.78 today) The USA Generation models consisted of the S1,S2 and S3 and Custom. Of those models, the model that was the closest in configuration to the Custom was the S2. The differences between them are, the S2 has a Mahogany body, where as the Custom has a Poplar body, for a slightly less heavy guitar. This guitar weighs 9 and 9/16th pounds according to my doctors scale with the sliding weights. Also the S2 has a rosewood fingerboard, where as the Custom came with a ebony fingerboard. This Generation Custom model is completely stock, with the exception the pickups, which were upgraded from the Peavey active pickups, to the higher quality name brand passive pickups. The pickups consist of a Dimarzio PAF in the bridge position, and a Seymour Duncan JB Junior in the neck position. Both of these pickups have coil tap capability. The mini switch on the guitar is a coil tap switch and it can turn both humbuckers into single coils. This in combination with the 5 way selector switch, gives you a wide range of tones. I've only seen two (including this one) of these USA Generation Customs. They are rare, but it is also a great playing and sounding guitar. If you like the tele shape, but want to try a super Tele, these USA Generation guitars are the best of the best. What makes it super? The ebony fingerboard with a flatter 12 inch radius for easier bending and soloing, when compared to a Fender tele. ( fender tele radius ranges from 7.25 for vintage to 9.5 for modern) This Peavey also has a highly figured and wider maple neck... I measured 1.75 at the first fret. If you have anywhere from medium to large hands, I find the wider neck and fingerboard allows for cleaner playing, and less accidental muting of notes while playing cords. This Peavey also has a USA made Kahler floating and locking tremelo, carved arched top with "Liguid Metal" color.
