Description: Vintage Correct Parts is proud to offer for your consideration a: Vintage 1991 Fender Custom Shop "1957" Stratocaster with a VERY early "V0" serial number! A Blonde with an Ash body is a hard thing to beat!!! From the VERY early days of the Fender Custom shop comes this incredible '57 reissue Strat. These guitars are now legendary - John Page was running a tight ship at the Fender Custom Shop during these early years - As Fender was very focused on getting it's mojo back in terms of offering faithful and accurate reissues of their flagship guitars from the 1950's and 1960's. Premium woods were used throughout. This one has an intensely flamed maple neck and a dark tightly grained slab rosewood board (maybe braz??). This was before the days of the "master built" guitars, these were built by a very small group of CS luthiers - sometimes one-off's and made to order guitars, these were essentially ALL master built without the branding moniker. This Strat has a very special pedigree as the body was built and finished by the great "Art Esparza", who was one of the earliest Custom Shop employees and would eventually become a "Master Builder" producing guitars for the likes of Buddy Guy, Eric Clapton and John Mayer. The NECK was carved by the "Neck Guru" - none other than Herbie Gastelum. This is most certainly an "if you know, you know" situation as Herbie's neck carves are now legendary, and for good reason. Herbie worked exclusively in the neck department for 40 years, before retiring - This neck feels incredible - like glove in hand - it plays perfectly and effortlessly. 100% stock, this guitar is just as it left the Fender Custom Shop in 1991. There is some play-wear and minor sings of use through out, most notably the "ding" on the arm-rest area of the front of the body. Everything else is minor and not particularly note-worthy as you'd expect to see on a guitar that was played for 34 years. The original frets are in stunning condition with almost no sings of wear. The neck is straight, the guitar plays in tune with no fret-out or buzzing. Original case is in fine shape and the case pocket hols the original Trem Arm, Original Strap, Case Keys and, most importantly, the John Page signed Custom Shop COA. We ship worldwide
