Description: This is a rare and collectible book titled "The History of King Charles the Second" by Jacob Abbott. Entered into Congress in 1849 and published in 1852, it features detailed engravings throughout the book and a full color title page. It is a great addition to any collection and a valuable resource for anyone interested in the subject. This book is in very good condition for its age. Although there are some missing spots of the red outer cover along the spine which reveal the plainer brown cardboard cover underneath, both front and back covers are very sturdy and book is still well bound. Front and back covers have some staining and wear primarily to the edges of the book and spine. Interior book pages appear well bound but there is what I would describe as wrinkling of the interior pages closer to the bounded spine. Please see pics. Interior pages are free of any writing/drawings/markings. There is some foxing on pages, primarily on the first few and last few pages. Please review pics for reference to these imperfections. Pages 82 &83 appear to have a sliver of the bottom end torn and page 97 has an odd shaped tab of paper extending from the bottom corner. (Please see pics). Book is free of any bad or musty odors.
