Description: These are recently manufactured supercapacitors suitable for the Casio AL-180 (Batteryless) and the Casio HDD-S100 watches. They are approximately 2 Farad, 2.75V Max. They measure 18.56mm x 2.15mm. This listing is for the supercapacitors only; The watches are not included. These supercapacitors may fit other watches, but I have only tested them (and confirmed proper function) in the 2 models named above. Like most non-solid state electronic components, supercapacitors degrade over time and lose their capacity as they age. If you find a vintage watch using such a supercapacitor, it's difficult to buy replacements. Many people use CR2016 batteries in these watches to get them working, but the solar panel will be just for show, and you will be overvolting the circuit board. Some people use ML2016 which is a rechargable Li-Ion cell but this also does not have the correct voltage and cannot be recharged properly by the low voltage circuitry of the watch. These watches are designed for supercapacitors and run at voltages too low to charge Li-Ion batteries. Supercapacitors do have a polarity and will degrade if charged in reverse. Please pay attention to the correct orientation when installing because supercapacitor poles are reversed compared to button cell batteries, but the watch's circuitry expects this. The picture demonstrates how the battery should be installed, with the negative pole facing towards the backplate. To maintain certainty that all buyers will receive a supercap that has not been charged in reverse, returns are not accepted.
