Description: This listing is for an exceptional drawing of a reclining male nude, executed in red and white chalk on medium brown paper. The figure holds a pose reminiscent of Michelangelo's Adam, gazing down as this unknown artist captures his form in quick diagonal strokes. With faint traces of a signature at middle right. The sheet came from a private collection in the UK. Drawing measures approximately 18-3/4"w x 13-1/2"h. It is in overall good condition with scattered dirt and surface imperfections. The sheet has been trimmed. Note small tear along bottom left edge and scattered pin holes. There is a slight crease along the bottom edge.
