Studio Art Pottery Tile Signed Marina Bosetti Abstract Nude Mid Century MCM

Description: From a Tucson, Arizona collector's estate: Striking modernist studio art tile by a contemporary tile artist Marina Bosetti. Ms. Bosetti is currently active and has produced a very accomplished body of work including both tiles and vases. This tile features a dramatic abstracted nude figure and demonstrates the use of a very unique wax-resist glaze technique. This technique allows the artist to produce remarkable variations in color and texture. The rectangle that frames the nude combines a vibrant metallic copper glaze with highlights of dark green. I tried to capture the intensity and richness of these colors by taking photos from different angles; I assure you it looks better in person! Ms. Bosetti used the dancing nudes motif until 2001.
