Accordingly, they manage the neat trick of beating the Strokes, Vines, etc. at their own game without even trying. As on their previous four (!) albums, the still-young Donnas provide a non-stop barrage of heavy guitar riffs, catchy-but-raw hooks, and plenty of pure punk energy. The fact that their pure punk/hard-rock sound never sounds contrived is a testament to the spirit and vitality that's lasted the group in such good stead throughout its existence.
