Description: The Southdown breed is the oldest of the down sheep originating on the South Down hills of Sussex County, England. The are often used as natural "mowers". They produce wool that is a spinner’s delight. The wool also has a natural superwash property, meaning that it won't felt. It has a wonderful crimp, ideal for blending with other fibers and great for beginners. SOUTHDOWN Micron: 28-30 Staple lenght: 4-5 inches long 4 oz 113 grams All my fiber comes from a smoke-free, pet-free environment. I store and send out my fibers with lavender sachets when available to keep pests away. Please let me know if you are allergic to lavender to avoid sending it to you. I do my best to get pictures from different angles to capture and show the beauty of the color combinations. Remember that your monitor may show colors different than mine. I'm always open for questions.
