Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE I am selling a rare piece of Red Wing art pottery. It’s an oblong console embossed with the Fondoso dinnerware pattern. The Fondoso pattern – part of the Gypsy Trail line – was introduced in 1938 and was produced only until the early 1940s. Designed by Belle Kogan, the first female American industrial designer of note, Fondoso features a stylized leaf motif impressed into the clay before firing. Even though this piece have been around for about 80 years, the design still seems fresh. This piece is unusual in that it is definitely a piece of Red Wing art pottery, but it was designed to go with a set of Red Wing dinnerware. The catalog number of this 903, but it is not marked as such. The bottom is impressed with “© Red Wing Potteries Inc.” The bowl measures about 12 inches long by 5¾ inches wide by 2½ inches deep. It is glazed inside and out in the color hyacinth (blueish purple). This piece is in very good condition, with no cracks or chips. As with all Red Wing dinnerware of that era, there could be minor glaze variations and other slight manufacturing imperfections. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for looking, and happy shopping!
