Consider looking at my other items and check back regularly.Rectangular Athlete Proficiency Badge Ribbon Unbound with Boy Scouts Troop 1930s era Red Runner PS171AU1 DESCRIPTION: Athlete proficiency badge, this rectangular ribbon, unbound style of proficiency badges was introduced in 1930, this manufacturing style replaced the Felt badges without Boy Scouts and then the Felt badges with Boy Scouts crest designs used previously-does have the words BOY SCOUTS embroidered on the felt, the manufacturing style was only in use for a few years, that could partially explain the limited number of badges in this style now found close to 100 years later -these machine-made badges were rectangular in shape and without edge binding, thus these badges were prone to fraying along the top and bottom edges, I believe the edges were meant to be folded in while sewing creating the characteristic ROUND shaped Scout proficiency badge, this being said I have seen Scout shirts from this era where the rectangular shape was maintained -this ribbon, unbound style of badge was only in production from 1929 / 1930 to 1935 and thus relatively hard to find, this style was eventually replaced with the circular, bound badge style Style Variation: ribbon, unbound (this style variation was produced and then used in the early 1930’s) Size: approximately 37 mm x 40 mm or 1 7/16” x 1 3/8” with the size varying depending on whether or not the edges have been folded overCONDITION: Used (the colour and images on this badge remain very strong and vibrant, see images for greater detail, top and bottom edges were folded over) Going For*: $143.99 FREE SHIPPING Yes, there will no extra shipping expense added at checkout on this item and on many of our eBay STORE listings.
