Description: Rare Vintage late 1940's Korean War Era Zippo lighter On one side is 185th Infantry Regiment crest.The colors blue and white (silver) are for infantry. On the other side is the 223rd Infantry Regiment crest. SIEMPRE ADELANTE Both are Regiments of the United States Army. Lighter is untested and left to the buyer. The striker spins freely, however the flint is wore down and needs replaced. It does not have fuel. It is dry and appears to be in great condition! It does show wear from previous use and age. See photos. 185th Infantry Regiment crest has the bull head in the center of the shield. The regiment is shown by the use of the same basic design of the shield of that organization's coat of arms in reversed colors with the caraboa head added to symbolize service in the Philippine Islands during World War II.Motto: PERSEVERENTIA TRIUMPHAT (Persaverance Triumphs) The 185th has history starting that can be traced back to 1885. The 185th Infantry Regiment would go on to serve with the 40th Infantry Division during World War II, completing the war in Korea as part of the American occupation force. In 1946, 2nd Battalion, 185th Infantry Regiment, became the 223rd Infantry Regiment. Measures 2-1/8" tall x 1-1/2" wide. See store for other vintage militaria. Ships to USA only.
