Description: Last pic shows same spoon in The Rhode Island School of Design Museum in Providence Rhode Island RI (RISD). I could not find any other examples of this spoon anywhere. Gorham silver company is also in Providence. The hallmark is from 1875 to 1899. It weighs 26.25 g and is 5 1/2 inches long. It is a beautiful design with sailors rope spiraling around the spoon in 3-D. The bowl of the spoon has an arched whale with raised tail and head. The body of the spoon is an actual harpoon with a ship on the top. It would be a great addition to any collection. New Bedford, Massachusetts whaling souvenir.
