Catalog # DOCD-5187 . This is some good old rare Blues! Remastered and presented here. The quality of these recordings are clear, considering the dates originally recorded (1924 to 1926). "Salt Lake City Blues" captures Jackson's take on how black people are treated in that city by the Mormon folk of the time. Salty Dog Blues, Coffee Pot Blues, Drop that sack, and more include some unique and skilled Banjo Guitar playing. Excellent musicianship, clever verses, a unique sound that reminds me weirdly of the old "Song of the South" ride soundtrack at Disneyland on some songs. There is some rich melody here that contains a clever and jolly heart. Remember, this is remastered from material right around 100 years old, so there is going to be plenty of hiss.
