Description: Rare original 1890s cabinet card photo of Reverend Fung Y. Mow, a Chinese preacher who came to California from China as a teen to work in a mission there. He studied English and became a Christian convert before moving to New York and working at Morning Star Mission there. While working in New York in 1897 he was afflicted with consumption and moved to the Adirondacks for awhile to recover his health; he eventually returned to New York and lived until at least 1909. Signed on the back in ink. 6.5" x 4.25". Very good antique condition with light soiling and edge wear. The inventory number is not on the original photo. Boxed Priority Mail.
