Description: This rare 1930s Dutch “Sampson Special Shag" litho hinged tobacco tin, measuring 3 1/8” x 4 1/4” x 7/8”, is in fair condition with no dents, a couple of small, superficial interior lid rust spots and some age related paint scratches and chips. The hinge is in excellent condition. This highly attractive blue, red and gold Art Deco tin features detailed graphics of a lion jumping through a smoke circle which is being formed by the lion tamer as he exhales smoke from his cigarette. The tobacco was manufactured by Koninklijke Theodorus Niemeyer Tobacco Company, Groningen, The Netherlands.
