Description: BASIC INFORMATION: Title: Princeton In Spring: Camera Impressions Author: Samuel Chamberlain Publisher: Princeton University Press, 1950 Format: Hardcover with Dust Jacket Condition: Light edge wear to the dj, good boards, tight binding, no writing, no torn pages. Content: From A Review: “This fascinating book consists of 101 full-page or two-page black and white photographs of the buildings of Princeton University and Princeton, New Jersey, as they looked at that time. They are arranged in chronological order as the season progresses, going from bare branches to tree buds to a multitude of flowers. The Gothic and Colonial buildings are beautiful, and the artistry of the photography is striking, with the author/photographer using trees and branches to frame and highlight those buildings. Mr. Chamberlain tells us in the foreword that he is deliberately keeping captions to a minimum--he simply identifies each picture as "Nassau Hall" or "The Dean's House" without giving any further information because, he says, guidebooks have already been written and he wants this to be simply a book of photographs. He certainly succeeds in creating a remarkable work in that genre, and anything less than five stars would be unthinkable.” Always shipped well-packed. United States only. Thanks for taking a look!
