Description: Antiquarian Medical Book: full title is "Prescriptions and How to Use Them: An Anatomical and Physiological Treatise on the Human Body with a Practical Description of its Diseases, Their Symptoms and Treatment". Whew. 1892. Volume 1 of what I believe is a three-volume series (I have seen Volumes 1, 2, and 3 on eBay). Hardcover, with green cloth cover. 506 pages. By the way, if you look at those other volumes, compare this cost to those. Condition: Binding solid including inner hinges on back and front covers; pages nice cream color, all intact. Significant water staining just on back cover, as if it was lying on its back and that is all that got wet. No marks or handwriting. Photos show content and sample pages. Indexed. Like other medical books of the time, there is are detailed observations and common sense advice mixed with what we now see as balderdash. There will be content here to make you laugh and cringe. Fun to read. Great gift for doctor, medical student, or pharmacist. Thanks for looking!
