And, there are tiny pores on the surface with concomitant ridges/bumps called "mammillae." Incredibly, this egg has been ingeniously cross sectioned (diagonally) to reveal its major components: shell, shell membrane, albumen, yolk sac, and embryo of an unknown, non avian dinosaur! Truly, this is an amazing artifact. Found "as is" in East Multnomah County, Oregon, near the Columbia River Gorge.
