Description: Superbly crafted, 3 lb. petrified wood metate, and 2 oz. petrified wood mano. Pecked, ground, and super smoothed, both pieces are exceptionally crafted. There are various concave indentations placed around the entire metate for added grip strength if hand held. The metate can be used as a lap instrument as well. There are several distinctly conspicuous images also. The 2 oz. mano is made of petrified wood and is also exceptionally sculpted, having optional finger placement. Both implements are important examples of ancient craftsmanship; truly collector's artifacts. Found "as is" in East Clackamas County, Oregon near the Columbia River Gorge. Thank you for viewing these treasures from the ancient inhabitants of North America.
