Portraits Kings Edward ll, lll, V Antique Original H/col Engravings 1804 Wilkes

Description: A set of three original hand coloured stipple engravings by John Chapman (active 1792-1823). Royal portraits, each depicts an English King, Edward ll, Edward lll and Edward V. Each portrayed head and shoulders, Edwards ll and V in Royal regalia, Edward lll in armour. Each has a little vignette engraving beneath. All published by J Wilkes, each has individual date between Feb 1803 and April 1804. They were a plates in Wilkes's Encyclopedia Londonensis which was a 24 volume set published between 1797 and 1829. Printed on cream coloured wove paper. All are in good condition but do have light foxing to the margins and toning at the edges conducive with age. Each sheet measures 27 x 21cm, the plates only are 16 x 10cm. Postage free in the UK, £4 to mainland Europe and £8 to the USA. For other destinations please contact me for a postage quote.
