Description: Pisgah Forest Pottery baby face applique vase made by potter Rodney H Leftwich while working at Pisgah Forest Pottery. The potter himself contacted us on eBay to let us know that this is one of his one-of-a-kind pieces. This fabulous vase has a sheer forest green drip glaze body with tan and olive drip glaze tones on the applique baby face design. The vase has a fantastic blister glaze with strong dip and drip marks and loads of pops and bubbles throughout the piece. There is crazing throughout the glaze which cannot be detected with your eye but can be seen under magnification and on the glaze in the interior of the vase where the glaze is a clear coat over natural clay. The underside of the vase has the impressed Pisgah Forest mark with date 96. This is a very unique and unusual piece of Pisgah Forest Pottery and would make a great addition to any collection. Vase measures 12-1/2" H x4-1/2" W x 4-1/2" D. The opening is 3-1/8" W, and the base is 3-3/4" W. (MH-158 A-1) CONDITION: Excellent vintage condition with overall crazing in the glaze that can be seen under magnification. There is overall glaze blisters, bubbles and pops in the glaze that is an intentional design technique and not a flaw.
