Past Patterns 0213 - Late 1890s Corset Sewing Pattern bust sizes 32-48

Description: Past Patterns PP#0213Late 1890s Corset Sewing Pattern This Late 1890s Corset is an original Past Patterns design★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★Our Late 1890s corset is modeled after the R&G corset # 397, which was featured in Ladies' Home Journal in April of 1898. The 'Hour Glass' silhouette of the 1880s and 1890s was achieved by wearing this corset or one similar to it. Today it is not necessary to draw the waist tight, only make the corset fit snugly to get the smooth Victorian look from shoulder to waist. Reviews on the pattern and making the Corset can be viewed at https://tailoredbymrspinalzo.com/sewing-an-1890s-hour-glass-corset-1/ and https://sewing.patternreview.com/Patterns/13853★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★Bust 32 ½" - 48"Waist 24 ½" - 40"Hips 34 ½" - 50"Designs are included for B, C & D cups★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★The original fabric was a black satin weave cotton. It was trimmed with a rough cream lace into which narrow purple ribbon was drawn. We do this with the hope that people will start creating and wearing reproductions instead of antique originals. The clothes we wear and that our grandparents wore are part of our cultural history. Just as you would not abuse antiques furniture by cutting off decorative trim, so you should not abuse antique garments by wearing them. Our second goal is that you pick up a little bit of history when you sew the garment. The fit, the cut, the fasteners, the fabric design, just to mention a few things, are part to the technology of the time. Our third goal, in sewing the patterns, is to spark an interest in genealogy and local history. Researching local history is always a rewarding pursuit. SKU 0213 Thanks for looking!
