This is a metal figure painted by award winning artist Eric Johns. Eric took home the Gold medal with this piece in the "Lord of the Rings: Single Miniatures" category at the 2006 LA Games Workshop Games Day Golden Demon Competition. I was lucky enough to be shown this piece by Eric prior to its entry and expressed interest in acquiring it afterwards should he decide to part with it. About the artist: Born in 1978, Eric is known for breaking the boundaries of miniature painting in the 2000s. During his active painting years, he was noted for his flair for new concepts, a unique style, and extraordinary freehand ability. By 2005, Eric was among the top ten ranked painters on the site CoolMiniOrNot. Early on, he won Chick Challenge VI: Best of Show, was a frequent Golden Toadstool winner, and ultimately went on to win seven Golden Demons between 2006 and 2007 in multiple categories, including a Gold for the Gollum in this listing.
