Description: Trainer for Kids Phase 2 - T4K® Phase 2Arch expansion and continue habit correctionThe pre-orthodontic Trainer for Kids (T4K®) is a single-size, prefabricated dental appliance that incorporates both myofunctional and tooth positioning characteristics. The T4K® is designed for treatment in the mixed dentition, while the permanent teeth are erupting and the child is still growing.Phase 2 focuses on arch development and continuing habit correction. Made from a harder material, it assists in developing the upper and lower arch form, allowing more room to establish the correct tongue resting position and correct swallowing patterns. The T4K®Phase 2 is intended to be used in the guidance of tooth eruption and correction of myofunctional habits. It is a firmer appliance and best used after Phase 1, providing additional arch development and tooth alignment. The Trainer System™The original appliance range for myofunctional orthodontics! The Trainer System™ is the original myofunctional orthodontic appliance range developed by MRC in the early 1990s. This vintage system is still a leader in its field and trusted by countless practitioners from around the world. The appliance designs and their ease of use make this acclaimed appliance range widely popular today for the treatment of orthodontic, breathing and myofunctional disorders. Although the system is still available for purchase, it has evolved into The Myobrace®System, which builds on the foundations laid by The Trainer System™ by incorporating added arch development features. Arch expansion and continue habit correctionThe Pre-OrthodonticTrainer for Kids™ (T4K®) is part of The Trainer System™ by Myofunctional Research Co.Bad myofunctional habits such as incorrect tongue position and function plus mouth breathing are often the cause of misaligned teeth and poor jaw development. The Myofunctional Effect™All appliances in The Trainer System™ are designed to re-train the oral musculature. This assists in the correction of toot hand jaw alignment. If left untreated, myofunctional habits such as mouth breathing, incorrect swallow and tongue thrusting will be detrimental to correct facial development and any future orthodontics. The T4K®is specifically for treatment in the mixed dentition stage, while the permanent teeth are erupting and the child is still growing.T4K®Phase 2 Design FeaturesThe design features of the T4K®Phase 2 are ideally suited for the continued correction of any malocclusion (except Class III) in the mixed dentition, while also helping to correct breathing and soft tissue dysfunctions.1.Tooth Channels.2.Tooth Aligners impart a light force on misaligned front teeth. MYOFUNCTIONAL EFFECT™3.Tongue Tag helps achieve the correct positioning of the tongue tip.4.Tongue Guard stops tongue thrusting when in place and encourages the child to breathe through the nose.5.Lip Bumpers discourage overactive lip muscle activity JAW DEVELOPMENT6.Aerofoil shaped base assists jaw development Correct jaw position is produced when in place by a combination of preventing mouth breathing and tongue thrusting. TRAINER TIPS FOR PARENTSlThe child must persevere with use while sleeping if the T4K® falls out due to tongue thrust or mouth breathing. Incorrect habits must be corrected, and once the T4K®stays in all night your child has succeeded. lThe child's mouth should be closed most of the time ie: emphasise Keeping the lips together when the T4K® is in place. When theT4K® is out of the mouth, the lips should be lightly together and the child should breathe through the nose. lRemind the child to have their tongue tip in the approximate position of the Tongue Tag even when the T4K®is not in use. lUse for a minimum period of six to twelve months. lIf overnight use is not possible, increase day use. lExpect to see dental changes within three months with good compliance. However, you should see an improvement in function within a short period of time [breathing through the nose, and less muscle activity when swallowing]. Directions for UseThe Trainer appliance is to be used for one to two hours each day, plus overnight while sleeping. The patient's teeth may become slightly sensitive in the early stages of treatment. This is quite normal, however, if pain becomes excessive, decrease application time with the aim to build it back up once the appliance is accustomed to and sensitivity subsides.Step 1Hold the T4K® with the tongue tag facing up.Step 2Place the T4K® into your mouth.Step 3Keep your tongue positioned on the tongue tag.Step 4Gently bite down on the T4K® and feel it working to align your front teeth and jaws.Step 5Keep your lips together and breathe through your nose.
