BID WITH CONFIDENCE - SATISFACTION GUARANTEED NEWFOUNDLAND 54 1887 5c DARK BLUE SEAL W/ MISPLACED ENTRY + GUIDELINE MPH CV$200 Five cent, dark blue, Harp Seal from the British American Bank Note Co. (Montreal) issue of 1887, engraved, no watermark, perf. 12.0x12.0. Printed on medium weight, crisp white wove paper with horizontal mesh, yellowish tinted gum. Deep blue color, crisp appearance, off center to the top but still quite reasonable. Unburnished guideline through "5 FIVE CENTS 5' as well as the bottom right margin. There are blue-colored parallel lines in the right margin directly in front of the seal's nose and another set of lines (faint) approximately 5mm below the first set. Approximately 30% of original gum disturbed by previous hinging. Some light toning at upper right mentioned for the record. Images should provide all the information necessary to make a reasonably intelligent bid on this lot.
