Due to the small size of the Honeywell 5814 sensor, it is a good option when looking for a window and door sensor that blends into your home's decor. Depending on the size of your door or window frame, the Honeywell 5814 door and window sensor might also be the right choice for its smaller size alone. The Honeywell 5814 wireless door and window contact has a wireless RF transmitting range of 100' nominal. The 5814 wireless transmitter is smaller and therefore does not have the same robust wireless range as the 5811 or 5816 wireless sensors. If your 5814 wireless window or door contact is reporting an RF supervision loss error, you would need to move the 5814 contact closer to your Honeywell wireless alarm system or wireless receiver. You could also add a Honeywell 5800RP wireless repeater to bring the 5814 wireless transmitter back in range. Make sure to install the 5814 sensor's magnet (included) along the side of the sensor that has the triangle symbol. The wireless sensor should be installed on the window or door frame while the magnet should be installed on the window or door. The magnet should be no further than 1/2" from the 5814 sensor.
