Description: Offered is a scarce silver litra from Naxos in Sicily which has unfortunately been broken and repaired as shown. Struck 420-403 BC on a 14mm silver flan weighing .68 gm. Obv. Ivy-wreathed head of Dionysus facing left. Rev. Bunch of grapes on a stalk with leaves & tendrils with nice detail. Glued back together some time ago and I have made no attempt to improve the repair which I believe is possible. Purchased from "bigfisher66" on ebay in 2015. In the condition shown with slight granularity and still a nice addition to any collection of ancient Naxos coinage.
