Description: Vintage original (1987) print on thick stock paper titled "Painting No. 50" based on a painting by American Modernist artist Marsden Hartley. Painting No. 50 is an abstract painting created by Hartley in 1914-1915 while he was living in Berlin, Germany just before and in the early part of World War I. It contains cubist influences and references to Native American culture in the form of shapes (a tipi and canoes), as well as military symbols. The original painiting is part of the Daniel J. Terra Collection and the print is a poster advertising that the painting was on exhibit at the Terra Museum of American Art in Chicago in 1987. The size of the entire print with the white margins is approximately 25.5 inches in width by 31 inches in height.
