This pattern has been retired. These plates are in superior condition appearing to have seldom been used. There are no chips, no cracks, no stains, no haze, no crazing, and no gray utensil marks. One plate shows a visible scratch approximately 1-1/4 inch in length about mid-way up the rim side. The other plates only show faint utensil scratching visible in direct light when tilted. See pictures. If you are a fan of the style and quality of John Stymeist designed stoneware, then you will want this set of plates! Made in Japan, these salad plates are from the Craftworks product line and feature the trademark speckled glaze coloration. These plates appear to be from the Chocolate pattern featuring a dark chocolate brown background color speckled with tiny irregularly shaped flecks of black with the rim edges showing the chocolate brown undercolor. These coupe style plates have a simple, yet sophisticated style appearing to have texture and depth despite the smooth satin glaze. The plate dimensions are 1-3/16" H, 8-1/4" diameter, and weigh 13.6 ounces each. These items will be well packed in a heavy duty box to help ensure safe delivery.
