Description: The item for sale is a large ancient large Indus Valley Terracotta Zebu Bull Harappan Harappan/Mohenjo-Daro civilizationca. 2700 to 2000 BC.Central Asia, Indus Valley, Harappan/Mohenjo-Daro civilization, ca. 2700 to 2000 BC. A bichrome pottery sculpture representing a proud humped and long-horned Zebu bull, its body and horns adorned with a black motif, (decoration now partially deteriorated on all surface areas), and possessing a dramatic hump, painted harness around the neck.The Zebu is the domesticated form of the Asian auroch that disappeared and was replaced with the Zebu during the time of the Indus Valley civilization. The humped bull was a recurring theme on the decorative and ritual arts from this civilization, most likely symbolizing leadership, strength and virility. Stands proud giving it a strong powerful pose. Complete with no restoration, slight losses to the paint on all surfaces (see photographs). Size: 13.3 cm long, 10.5 cm high and 5.5 cm wide at widest point approximately.Weight: 248 grams approximately. This is an interesting examples that displays very well so don't miss it, I have one other listed but then they are gone.
