Description: LONG WAVE and SHORT WAVE UV Very pleasant, multi color fluorescence on this Lapis Lazuli specimen with a mineral I have yet to ID that fluoresces blue under long wave UV light. Nice rich, blue color on this specimen in regular lighting. Fluoresces orange and blue under long wave UV (images 1,4,7) and a yellow/green and blue under short wave UV light (images 2, 8) The rock is metamorphic, a Marble, composed of chiefly of blue Lazurite, White/Grey Calcite and Brassy colored Pyrite on addition to other Sodalite minerals such as Hackmanite and Hyauyne, and Richterite, Phlogopite The above images were taken with Convoy S2 long wave UV light and a 6 watt short wave lamp. 126 grams. 3-3/4" length.
