The Girls. The Beat was one of the earliest American newspapers that gave wide coverage to the exploding rock ā€˜nā€™ roll music scene. It ran from 1964 until 1968, with its first issue being February 25. Consisting of articles, interviews, concert updates, record reviews, this is a magical snapshot of music history as it was being made. Great coverage of the British Invasion. The Beatles, The Who, Rolling Stones, The Hollies, Them, The Yardbirds. Filled with photographs, ads, contests and drawings. Truly a time capsule of a decade of massive change not just on the music scene, but on the social, political and economic as well. The fashion trends, then breaking bounds of lyrics, body movements, social norms and explosions. Look through these now and looking at where we are now.... beyond fascinating. Tony Barrow was a contributing columnist. He was publicist to the Beatles, and known to have coined the name The Fab Four. Different stations (cities) would have their own edition. The KRLA Beat, The WCFL Beat, etc. I will happily answer any further questions. Making offers: I certainly can appreciate wanting a better deal, and I've made offers myself on my own purchases. To be up front, if and when you make an offer, I will automatically reject crazy low "give it away" offers. Best not to waste our time. With a more reasonable offer, I will review current pricing for other comparable items out there and either accept, counter or decline submitted offer. If in that review, I find my pricing is already LOW and outdated, I may then increase the price to bring more in line with other offerings. I spend a lot of time sourcing the best offerings, preparing the listings with images and clear descriptions, and price fairly in MOST cases. I remain grateful to all who consider my offerings, and I look forward to serving your needs respectfully and with success. Shipping: International buyers -- I utilize the eBay INTERNATIONAL Shipping Program, having found it quite stable. US buyers -- I utilize USPS, shipping by your chosen service. Insurance will be an additional charge if desired. Typically, I will ship within 72hrs of payment, striving for closer to 48hrs. Will gladly ship faster if we connect in advance so I can make arrangements. Will combine multiple orders to save on shipping. eBay may assess sales tax based on the state requirements for where you reside. This is not something in my control, nor do I handle that in any way. Thank you for considering this offering! :-)) View more great items
