Re-issue of the 1975 Album with Five Bonus Tracks, the Second Disc is Comprised of the Best of his Live Recordings from the Late 70s Onwards.JOHN MARTYN (vocal, guitar).The first disc, recorded in 1975, at Leeds University, features according to the notes, Martyn-vocals and guitar with Echoplex, Danny Thomson (from PENTANGLE) -bass, John Stevens-drums, and Paul Kossoff (FREE)-guitar, who can can be heard to great effect on the bonus tracks (7-11), with his trademark vibrato (which Eric Clapton wanted Kossoff to teach him), and sustain. Sadly, a year later Kossoff would be dead and Martyn would disappear from the music scene for several months. The original album was released by Martyn, from his home, on his own label.The second disc is made up of live tracks from various years/venues. The song "Big Muff" (in homage to Martyn's favorite effects unit), was recorded in Milan in 1979. "Over The Rainbow" was recorded in London in 1986, while "Looking On" and "The River" are from London on 1990. "Root Love" and "Anna" were recorded in 1983 at the Bottom Line. All the tracks have been previously released on Martyn's One World label.
