This tea bowl was made with a lot of firewoods in hole kiln, and a part of the surface is covered with natural glaze created with ash. The signature is carved on the bottom. The original wooden box with his signature is also included. Bizen ware is a type of Japanese pottery most identifiable by its ironlike hardness, reddish brown color, absence of glaze, and marklings resulting from wood-burning kiln firing.
