Description: Here is a Hand Carved Gunning Style Turned Head Avocet Shore Bird Decoy carved by my myself (Sam McKamie) It is carved with pocket knife and rasp from cedar after I have done the initial sawing and drilling. This little decoy has tack eyes, a hardwood bill, and nice thigh detail. The wings are relief carved as shown in the pictures. The stand is included. It is painted with a gunning style like those old working decoys of the past. This one measures 10 1/2 inches from the tip of the tail to the tip of the breast, 13 1/4 inches tall, and is from 1 1/2 inch stock. This would make a fine addition to any collection!
