It’s Han in Carbonite!From Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi! This is the ORIGINAL SCULPTURE that was usedto create the final production piece. It’s extremely rare for prototypes to come up for sale.Usually they are destroyed in the mold makingprocess along the way. What’s really cool with this one besides the incrediblesculpture, are all the different materials used. This was created in the pre-digital age by hand.It was a laborious and messy process to say the least. Lots of sanding, grinding and more sanding to getparts smooth along with the melting, carving and yep, more sanding of molten hot wax. There were a few people involved in the creation of thispiece. You can see the devices on the side are not there, another artist created those. This piece is not in perfect condition, some of the fingerTips broke off, revealing the armature underneath!It makes a great display piece for sure. The Han Solo section is made of Wax and the surroundingcarbonite containment structure is made of resin and styrene. It’s a big piece measuring in at 13 ½ inches tallx 5 3/8 inches wide x 1 ½ inches deep The deepest area is Han Solo’s head which brings it to2 ½ inches deep.
